The Confédération Européenne de Volleyball (CEV) is the European umbrella association for volleyball. The association’s headquarter is located in Luxembourg; the association is presided over by chairman André Meyer. The CEV was founded on 21th October 1963 and organises the majority of European competitions and tournaments.
The CEV is the presiding entity over individual national associations and organises continental competitions such as the highly prestigious European Championships (which had its debut in 1948), the Champions League, the CEV Cup, the Challenge Cup and the European League.
It also contributes to the organisation of qualification tournaments for the Olympic Games and World Championships as well as international competitions held by member associations.
